Hassett on Iran war: ‘The president had to act’

National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett on Sunday defended President Trump’s handling of the Iran war, saying the president “had to act” and that otherwise the outcome could have been dire. Hassett said the conflict began after Iranians told the U.S. they no longer needed to talk because they were two weeks from achieving a nuclear capability.
