Trump: EU allowing Canada to become associate member could be ‘hostile act’

President Trump said Wednesday that the European Union inviting Canada to join as an associate member could amount to a 'hostile act,' threatening tariffs or a trade embargo against the bloc. 'If they do that, if I think it's at all a hostile act, I will put very serious tariffs or stop trading with Europe,' he said.
