Security researchers disclosed an AI-assisted SharePoint exploit chain reaching unauthenticated remote code execution. The flaw, CVE-2026-55040 with CVSS 9.1, affects SharePoint Server Subscription Edition, 2019, and 2016. A significant part of the work was done through an AI agent, allowing attackers to enter as any user including administrator with no valid account.
