A polling firm called Median Strategies confessed to faking survey results in two races, calling it a "short-term social experiment" on misinformation. The fake polls showed Francesca Hong leading in Wisconsin's Democratic gubernatorial primary and Karen Bass leading in Los Angeles. The surveys were exposed as bogus, and 21-year-old Rahil Prakash revealed himself as the person behind the operation.
