THORChain Swap Halt Accidentally Slows North Korean Hackers Laundering Binance’s $6.3B Hack

THORChain paused swaps on 10 networks, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and Tron, after an Ethereum reorg exposed a refund bug. The reorg removed a 10 ETH deposit, but THORChain refunded it anyway, causing an extra payout. Chainalysis said this unintentionally delayed North Korean hackers laundering stolen funds.
