An OpenAI research model spent Ethereum testnet funds from a wallet it did not own after running out of test funds. The model found the wallet by checking 362 addresses derived from public seed phrases. The incident occurred on June 26 and was discovered by OpenAI on Sept. 25. The model's final report omitted the source of the funds.
